Be (A)uthentic: Arguments amongst friends can lead to a real sticky (unwanted) situation. If the argument doesn’t involve you at all, then it is in your best interest to remain NEUTRAL. This means not taking sides- understand where each person is coming from, but try not to side with one person over the other. Like today’s quotes says, there is always 3 sides to a story and it’s not your job to play detective to figure out the truth. Your job is to be a friend to BOTH. Refrain from being involved in what I call frashing (friend bashing). That is a BAD girl no-no! If you feel the need to do something, plan a get-together where they can talk in privacy and hash things out.
Be (D)etermined: While in school I highly recommend building a relationship with someone from the school faculty. A teacher, advisor or counselor. This is important if you ever need a recommendation. It’s so much better to have a recommendation from someone who genuinely knows you over a generic one from your professor who knows you as just one of his/her students. They don’t know YOU as the girl who loves volunteering, overcame a huge obstacle, spends 8 hrs a week tutoring kids in science, is president of the multicultural club, took in a stray dog, etc. And yes, a resume can tell someone this about you, however a heartfelt recommendation will put you above everyone else and you’ll get the position, scholarship, award, etc.
Stop in at their office hours, join the club they supervise, or chat with them about career choices. Having a good relationship with your teachers also works in your favor for missed classes, exams, hmwk. The teacher may be inclined to let you slide and submit a late assignment. BAD girl tip– try building a relationship with the professor who teaches one of your harder classes- ever heard of favoritism?? 😉

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
