Be (B)eautiful:Unless you have been living under a rock you should know that today is Spirit Day! Spirit Day honors the teenagers who had taken their own lives because of the bullying/hate they received because of their sexuality. But just as importantly, it’s also a way to show the LGBT youth who face the same pressures and bullying, that there is a vast community of people who support them and love them for who they are. I hope you are wearing purple today and if not I hope that your heart beats purple everyday. We are all human beings and no one deserves to be treated differently or tormented for being themselves.

Be (A)uthentic: So in the spirit of today (pun intended ;-)) I was looking around for a purple accessory that I can use on a daily basis. Sunglasses are my ultimate favorite accessory. They are pretty much the cherry on top of a perfect look.  I found these purple gems while exploring the Sunglass Hut website. It was so hard to choose just one, but I think these babies from Electric are pretty BAD ass. I love how they have a retro feel to them, but still look super modern!

Be (D)etermined: Make it a point to have a zero tolerance policy for hate. Next time you are around a conversation that is bashing someone for being “different” themselves, speak up and tell them you don’t think its right to talk about another human being in such a way. By sitting back and doing or saying nothing you are just as guilty. Think about that person who just wished that one person would have stood up for them or told their tormentors to cut the shit.
