Sally Hansen Salon Effects Product Review: Aint Nuttin’ But a Glitter Party.

I finally got my hands (literally) on the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips! They are actual strips of real nail polish  that you stick on and fit to your nails.  The best part is that you don’t have to wait for your nails to dry! I don’t know about you, but that is my least favorite part of a manicure, especially when I rush and wind up smudging a freshly done nail. AN-NOY-ING.

Each kit contains 16 different sized strips so that you can fit them to your nails. All you have to do is peel the back, fit it to your nail, smooth it out and then file off the remainder of the strip.  It’s so easy even a cave man could do it.

No messy nail polish all over your skin; no wasting time while drying, just a straight up party on your nails in under 15 minutes. I’m wit it.

Overall, I give the strips an 8 out of 10. They have been on my nails for over 2 weeks. My one complaint is that some of the sizes didn’t cover my entire nail leaving parts of the sides visible. UPDATE: These were also a bitch to get off; 15 cotton balls soaked in remover later and I was free.

Color: Frock Star

I did get mad attention and compliments. The bright shiny sparkles could be seen by the blind. I’m not even joking.  Total non-stop glitter party. They also come in basic plain colors too for all you boring folks.  I’ve been on the hunt for the leopard print design, but no luck yet.

They can be found in drugstores for $10.

Anyone else ever tried these out? Thoughts?

  1. Oh I wonder how well those come off since glitter nail polish is such a pain. I quite enjoyed my leopard print ones, I also got lots of compliments. My complaint were two chipped right away and that they gave you an odd number… I don’t think I could recreate another set without buying another box which is $10 😦

    • Yeah, they were a pain in the ass to get off!! And I think the only reason they give you extra is so that you have different size options.

      Thanks for stopping by Kim!

  2. Is it like a a cheaper way of getting minxed? I always wanted to get minx but too darn expensive! I wanna try this. My fingernails are tiny though so I’ll more then likely have excess on the sides.

    • OMG these glitter ones DID NOT peel right off. My nail tech used up like 15 cottonballs to remove them. It was intense lol But thanks for stopping by TY!!

  3. Great post! I have a question….I tried these out last night and they did not stay on my nails, did you have this problem too? And if not how were you able to make them stay on the nails??

    Thanks!
