Who doesn’t have a love/hate relationship with credit cards? I know I do, so here is a good tip for managing your cards and keeping your credit score on the up and up!

It’s important to keep your oldest card active as long as possible to establish consistently good credit history, even if you only use it once or twice a year. If you have multiple cards that were opened around the same time make sure you choose to keep the best card open and active. For example, an Amex or MasterCard should remain open as opposed to a Macy’s or Victoria’s secret credit card.

Also make sure you don’t close more than one account per year or your credit score will get docked.
