The ‘Goodwill Suits You’ Fashion Show took place on October 1st at the 3rd ave Harlem Goodwill Store location to kick of Disability Employment Awareness Month. I participated as a stylist for 3 fabulous models: Richard, Sheril and Kim! I met with each of them individually at Goodwill Stores to help pick out professional attire that they can walk the runway in and use for the workplace. Here are some pics of them working the runway during the show!
I styled Richard in a dark grey suit with a paisley tie that will be perfect for when he goes on interviews in the communications/tech space. Richard was so much fun to work with and he definitely did his thing on the runway!
Sheril was my super model because she is so tall and slim so I styled her in a black knee length pencil skirt and a fun printed blouse paired with a sweater to make it office/work appropriate since the blouse had no sleeves. Sheril worked it!
The tweed jacket Kim is rocking was such an awesome thrift find that I had to make it the main focus of her outfit, so I paired it with a classic black and white look! Kim graduated with a teaching degree so I wanted to give her a great business casual outfit that is still very “teacher” appropriate. She looked great!
Here I am with my models after the show! I was so proud of each them for doing such a great job and being fearless. It’s not easy to get up in front of a crowd and they rocked it!
I had so much fun working with Goodwill and getting the opportunity to meet and work with so many amazing people. It felt great to be involved in such a special cause and I look forward to the next show! Until then I will actually be guest blogging every other Monday on the Goodwill blog! So stay tuned for more deets and all that good stuff!
Have you ever shopped at your local Goodwill?
