Social media is a huge part of our lives right? I’m all about it but what I’m not about are employers and future co-workers who scope you out on Facebook either before or after you get the job.
You best believe the e-mail that’s on my resume is not the same e-mail that’s linked to my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Keep business and personal separate. Create an e-mail address just for your social media accounts if you have to because the last thing you want is to not get a call back because of a late night tweet. And yeah, I know you can keep your stuff private but I think its smarter to not be found at all with the email address being sent to employers and professional organizations. Just Sayin’
Do you keep your accounts separated?

that’s an interesting point. I keep the same facebook for my blog and my personal. I don’t mind that my employers see my blog, it’s not like I have anything scandalous on there haha
I hear you lol I have just seen first hand people judging based off social media and I don’t think its cool.
I totally keep things separate. I do not even have a personal facebook account (although we do have one for our blog) because my employer frowns upon it.

your employer frowns upon facebook?! Where do you work?
i guess i have separate emails for say my blog and my personal stuff. but other than that, not really separate. i don’t really post on Facebook though more because of laziness than anything. but you do make a really good point!
