It’s that time of year where there will be plenty of opportunities to indulge. My secret for enjoying the holiday season and all the guilty pleasures that come along with it is easy. I do whatever is going to make me feel good and I focus my energy on the positive versus the negative. I feel good about that piece of pie because it was exactly what I wanted. I don’t shame myself for having seconds on Thanksgiving but instead practice gratitude for being lucky enough to have a meal to enjoy. I also make it a point to not participate in those after holiday discussions where people share all that they ate and how bad they feel about it. I don’t need to feel guilt because I am doing nothing wrong. When you feel good about your decisions you are rewarded with an equally good outcome (i.e. no increase on that scale). It has worked for me thus far so I challenge you to do the same this year! What is your favorite holiday indulgence? xoxo …
So, who are you, really? I’m not talking about the persona who has been created via social media. I want to know who you are when the world isn’t watching. I am talking about the authentic you who was there before the experiences of life (and Instagram) started shifting things for you. It is our personal responsibility to find that person and open her up to the world so that she can be reconnected with who you present to the world everyday. That is when the magic happens and lasting success starts making its way into your life. Here are my tips for living authentically: 1. Disconnect. Skip the social media feeds every once in a while. It will allow you to focus on yourself and not what everybody else is doing. 2. Alone Time. Spend some quality time getting to know who you are at this time of your life. Are you happy? 3. Do More Happy. Make an effort to do more things that genuinely make you feel good. Who cares if its …
If you’re still in school, or even if you’ve graduated, everyone remembers being motivated at the start of the summer to reinvent themselves by the time classes start up again. Even if school has long since passed for you, it’s never too late to set new goals towards bettering yourself. A lot of people try to go for looks to make a more noticeable change. But this year, try something new. Instead of focusing on your appearance, dedicate the season to making yourself happy. Whether you’re in a relationship or you’re single, learning to be self-sufficient (and happy doing so!) is one of the best attributes you can gain. Volunteer One of the quickest ways to make yourself feel good is to help do good for others. You’ll feel proud of yourself for doing something to help your community, which can give you a more positive outlook on your life. The most important thing to consider when volunteering is that you’re putting your time towards something that you’re truly passionate about. That way, you’ll be …
It’s virtually impossible to be happy when all you do is focus on the negative aspects of your life. Every time you speak, tweet, THINK negative things and more importantly allow these thoughts to effect how you feel you are attracting more of the same. So keep talking about your stressful job, lazy s/o, and lack of funds if that’s the life you want to continue experiencing. Do you really want to be happy? Start focusing on feeling good and putting your mind to focus on the things that you do want. Stop complaining to everyone about your problems and instead make a conscious effort to really focus on your blessings and all of the amazing things you desire that will essentially make you feel happy. Make a Pinterest board if you have to, but do something that will allow you to put your energy towards positive thoughts. Like the quote above says, happiness is a habit which means we need to develop it over time. How your life turns out is on you so make …
I know firsthand how scary it is to take risks and do something that is out of our comfort zone. I left a comfortable job in the fashion industry that I was pretty damn good at to start my own business. The hardest part wasn’t leaving the job, but rather leaving the comfort of a steady paycheck. However, I knew in my heart that if I didn’t leave when I did I probably wouldn’t ever do it. If you have confidence in yourself then being afraid to take a risk shouldn’t be an issue. When you believe in something with your whole heart you can make it your reality. If you want something you have never had before then you have to do something you have never done. Be someone who chooses to live freely. Be B.A.D.! What risk have you taken? xoxo Nicole Let’s Connect: Bloglovin’ Facebook Twitter Instagram Youtube Shop
I’ve mentioned in previous posts about how I am on a mission to do more of what makes me happy this year and less of the crap I don’t want to do. I truly believe that I am summoning more happiness into my life by simply doing me without any fear. Time is flying by and I wont be any younger than I am right now so I want to enjoy this life of mine! Start saying “YES” to things you want instead of hesitating. That hesitation is what messes you up. If you feel good about your decision you won’t regret making it. I’ve said yes to an EDM festival, a 5k run, a summer concert, a road trip and other things like having a weekend to myself, eating extra dessert and reading an actual book! So come on, let’s do more happy together! What is something you are doing that makes you happy? xoxo Nicole Let’s Connect: Bloglovin’ Facebook Twitter Instagram Youtube Shop
