B.A.D. Girl Beauty Review: Philip Kingsley Styling and UV Protection Products

It’s so important to protect yourself from UV rays and most of us probably forget about our hair, right?! I know I did until I was introduced to hair care brand Philip Kingsley. which has an awesome line of products to protect your hair from sun damage. These products are especially good for you ladies who color your hair because the sun will definitely strip or change the color of your locks. I am mildly obsessed so I had to post a review. Philip Kingsley Maximizer ($22): This hair spray maximizes volume, body and bounce. I spray it on my roots and get nice volume. It also adds a decent hold and shine and contains the UV protector. Philip Kingsley Preen Cream ($34): This styling cream protects, seals and adds shine. Its perfect for smoothing out dry ends which I love. Its lightweight and contains the UV protector too! Philip Kingsley Weatherproof Hairspray ($29): This hairspray is a must have for color treated hair since it helps protect against sun damage and extends the life …

Coily Head Chicks Product Review

I was contacted by hair care company CoilyHeadChick to review some of the products from their line for curly-haired girls. Now, I don’t normally wear my hair curly because I find the maintenance to be too much with my hectic schedule. However, I do love trying out new products since my hair has changed as an adult. Here are the three products I used on my hair: 1. Ultimate Hair Treat – A concentrated leave in moisturizer that can also be used daily. 2. Hair Perfection– A multipurpose styling gel 3. Hair Martini– A refresher hair spray for your curls. PROS: All natural high quality ingredients My hair was frizz free Products did not make my curls feel hard and crunchy CONS: I am sensitive to smells and the products left my hair smelling like baby powder, which I did not like. Whenever I touched my hair I felt residue from the product on my hands – even after my hair dried completely. I will definitely give CoilyHeadChick another try and I am thinking about …

Ultra Nurishing Cleansing Oil: Ultra Nourishing Cleansing Oil is a foaming, water-activated cleanser with an advanced oil base that gently removes dirt and build-up while restoring essential moisture.{Ouidad} Pros: Lathered up really quickly and was easy to massage into my scalp Smells absolutely amazing I immediately saw a difference after one use Sulfate & Paraben Free Cons: NONE! Whipped Curls Daily: Whipped Curls is a thick, dense daily conditioner that’s so luxurious it delights at first touch. Its rich, sensorial texture glides on hair and envelopes curls in deeply hydrating nutrients to elevate the moisture factor within the hair cuticle.{Ouidad} Pros: Makes a great conditioning treatment Made my hair feel softer Smells fantastic Cons: When used as a primer it made my hair feel a bit greasy Because the …

3 Hair Trends I am Dying To Try (pun intended)

1. Dip Dye Hair Color Lauren Conrad  posted this photo on her beauty blog, TheBeautyDepartment this week. It looks like Lauren did a dip dye/tie dye effect with pink, purple, and blue hair color. Afraid of commitment? Try these clip in color strip  hair extensions made of real human hair for only $8 each at extensions.com. 2. Ombre Hair I first saw this trend on blogger Rumi Neely and now tons of  celebrities have been doing the same for the past year. Ombre hair is achieved by having a darker color at the root and then gradually getting lighter at the tips or you can just stop getting touch ups on your dye job like I’ve been doing haha. 3. Feather Hair Feathers are a HUGE trend this summer in accessories and if you didn’t know this then please go take your ass to a retail store stat, thanks! Feathers in your hair are definitely something fun to try. You can do extensions like Jennifer Love (above) or purchase feather hair snap clips (below) that you can easily clip on and …
