1. Remove the “sent via blackberry” signature on your phone. It is so unprofessional. Go to the email settings on your phone and delete this text replacing it with your full name or a more appropriate signature. 2. Make it a habit to start including the name of the person you are directing your greeting to. For example: ” Good Morning Nicole” sounds way better than just saying a general “Good Morning”. The moment you include someones name you add a personal touch that makes it feel more real. Try it. 3. Okay so you are not having a great day, it happens to the best of us, but its the best of us who know better than to bring that shit to the work place. Put on a killer outfit, top it off with a smile and leave the attitude at home. ♥
Be (B)eautiful: The best way to feel better about my day, especially when I am at work is to take the extra time in the morning to look good. When I feel good physically, I am much more cheerful, productive and confident in my work. So take the 10 minutes to put on some make up, pick out a cute outfit or if your job is very conservative throw on sexy panties to rock under those slacks. 😉 Be (A)uthentic: Not all of us are fortunate to be working our dream jobs… right now. However, if you are lucky enough to have one that pays you and keeps you surviving than stop complaining. My thing is work harder for something better or shut up. There are too many people struggling who would kill to have your job or any job for that matter. So be grateful and do your best each and every day. Be (D)etermined: Try making a list of things you need to get done for that day. I promise that you will feel so good …
Be (B)eautiful: I absolutely love blasting my favorite song of the moment, singing at the top of my lungs and not caring about what anyone thinks. Its my way of releasing any stress I may have bottled up inside. It also helps to put me in an automatic good mood. 🙂 Be (A)uthentic: “Our thoughts create our reality; where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go” by Peter McWilliams. This quote is oh so true. Its important to keep positive thoughts in and kick negative ones to the gutter! Be (D)etermined: A good question to ask on an interview is “Why is the position currently available?” Your intentions in asking this question is to get insight as to whether this will be a good job for you. The interviewer might tell you that the previous person wasn’t comfortable cold calling and being rejected. If this is the case for you as well then it can help you decide whether or not to accept the position if/when it’s offered to you. They …
Be (B)eautiful: I love these rain boots from Dollhouse! They are so different from the typical style rain boots everyone rocks now. Very 60’s and very cute! I could see them being worn with jeans or a skirt/dress without looking tacky! Be (A)uthentic: A B.A.D girl is NOT someone who is deliberately mean and hurtful to others. That person is weak and insecure. A real bad girl is someone who knows when its time to defend herself and when to put people in their place. But she is not the one attacking others for the fun of it. Be (D)etermined: Make an effort to always be on good terms with previous employers/coworkers. This is important for future job opportunities where you may need a reference, a favor, or even a possible business opportunity. It is always smart to maintain your connections with people because you never know where someone may end up (professionally) and how they may be able to help or benefit you in the future either professionally or personally.
Be (B)eautiful: We as women need to learn to support one another if we want to succeed. Hating on accomplishments and successes only keeps us all down as a group. If we can learn to empower each other we can take on the world. Be (A)uthentic: There are about 9.1 million women-owned businesses in the U.S., a number that comprises nearly 40% of all businesses. So don’t doubt your ability to succeed if you have a great idea. Make it happen! Be (D)etermined: It’s the point when you feel like you can’t go on anymore and you want to give up that you have to keep pushing because success is at the other side. This is a way of testing you to make sure you really deserve it. So don’t quit!
Be (B)eautiful: There is no Excuse for NOT Cleansing your face after a days workout of makeup. Use your hands or a soft cloth w/a gentle cleanser to remove any residue left behind, a toner to give your skin elasticity, and a good moisturizer to keep your skin in top notch shape. I am absolutely obsessed with my 3 step kit from Artistry Essentials. My face always feels super soft and smells heavenly. 🙂 Be (A)uthentic: If its true that you start being called a bitch when you’re successful, then we should embrace the opportunity to be called a bitch in the workplace. It usually means that we are right or that we are insisting on excellence from others. Be (D)etermined: Women owners of businesses with revenues of $1 million or more were more likely than men owners to have started their companies rather than have purchased, inherited, or acquired them in some other way. Now that is pretty BAD ass!
Be (B)eautiful: Taking care of yourself is a must and I love trying new products especially those that are natural/organic handmade. Lush makes nothing but handmade products from all natural ingredients. HEAVEN. Be (A)uthentic: You have to lose some in order to win some. That job you were really hoping for may not have called you back, but an even better opportunity awaits you. When one door closes, another one always opens – all you need is a key. That key is positivity. Be (D)etermined: Be careful who you tell your ambitions/goals to before it comes to fruition b/c not everyone will be happy for you. It’s life and the haters are gonna hate! Though you may be excited – telling too many people will invite unwanted criticism and negativity and you don’t need that.
Be (B)eautiful: One of the best things you can do when someone is feeling down is to get them to S M I L E. A genuine smile releases endorphins that make you feel good. Be (A)uthentic: Being a big talker is such a turn off. No one likes to hear some one go on and on about what they can do, how great they are, what they have accomplished, who they know etc. Talk less and prove more. Let your actions do all the talking for you. Be (D)etermined: If you work in a very corporate setting where business attire is a must then I highly recommend you dropping some extra bucks on 1.) a really good suit and 2.) quality button ups and slacks. There is nothing tackier than cheap business clothes. Too tight blazers, flimsy button ups and polyester slacks are a no- go. Plus a nice suit will last you for anytime you may need to interview or dress up for events and important meetings. It’s a smart investment.
Be (B)eautiful: I am absolutely obsessed with ‘splash of grenadine‘ nail color by Essie. It has been my summer staple and its on my fingers right now as I type this! The color is appropriate for the office yet fun enough for summer nights. I love love LOVE it! Be (A)uthentic: When it comes to flirting a girls best weapon of choice is NOT her cleavage, but her smile. Your smile is an invitation for conversation. When you smile while speaking to others they cant help but to smile as well. Smiling also makes you look 100 times prettier no matter what you may be wearing or how you may be feeling. Be (D)etermined: On your rise for corporate success its important that you treat everyone with equal amounts of respect. You treat the janitor with the same respect you treat the CEO. It’s not about being too nice or a pushover, but it’s about respect that everyone rightfully deserves. Being a successful woman doesn’t mean you need to be rude or mean to those …
Be (B)eautiful: Keep your beautiful face hydrated this summer with Caudalie Grape Water Toner. I highly recommend!! Be (A)uthentic: As a B.A.D girl who keeps it real all the time it can lead to some sticky situations. You need to learn to filter your thoughts before they come out of your mouth. In other words- think before you talk. No one likes a rude bitch so it may be best to keep your comments to yourself every once in a while. Be (D)etermined: Don’t ever tell the person who is calling you about a job opportunity that you applied to so many jobs you forgot what the position they are calling about is for. You should not be applying for jobs that you don’t qualify for anyways. Seriously, just go along with what they are saying, pick up on context clues and use your brain!
