B.A.D. Girl Link Love: Rare photos of Aaliyah, a Fun Quiz & the Truth About Success

Happy Friday loves! I hope you all had a kick ass week! I’ve been in a bit of funk this week, but I finally  got my hands on an actual planner! You know, one that you actually write in? Yeah, I’m old school like that! I am hoping to get organized, focused and motivated now that I can compile my thoughts and write them down. This is the planner I bought on clearance from Vera Bradley. Score! Here are this weeks links I am loving! Beautiful: Aaliyah is still one of my favorite singers and I can’t help but miss her presence in the music industry every time I listen to her songs. In honor of Aaliyah’s 35th birthday on January 16th photographer Eric Johnson shared never before seen photos of her that were taken just one month before she died that you can see HERE. (via Love B. Scott) Authentic: This was a fun quiz to take and I interestingly enough got the city of Portland for being a free spirit who is smart, but …

B.A.D. Girl Photo Diary: Backstreet Boys Concert

I have always been a BSB fan since I was a kid and unfortunately didn’t get to experience their concerts until I was older and tickets for shows became a lot easier to get your hands on. BUT the BSB’s do not disappoint so this show was amazing! The concert was at the Nikon Theater at Jones Beach in Long Island, NY.  The rain storm we had during the day on Tuesday held off throughout the night and my sister and I had a blast!! They sang all of their hits plus a bunch of new songs. These boys can still shake their money makers 20 years later!  We were looooving it! I was so excited that my H&M online purchase came in just in time to wear to the concert. I purchased these studded sandals that are mad comfy and so damn cute. It’s going to be a problem now that H&M offers online shopping! The best thing about this concert was that we were FINALLY going to meet the BSB’s! We attended the …

B.A.D. Girl Playlist: Top Workout Jams

I have seriously realized the importance of a killer playlist to motivate your work out especially when you are doing cardio. So I decided to share with you all some of my favorite jams that I currently have on rotation while I am running my ass off on the treadmill! Warm Up Songs: 1. Daft Punk & Pharrell – “Get Lucky“ 2. Robin Thicke ft Pharrell & T.I. – “Blurred Lines“ Upbeat Cardio Tracks: 3. Daddy Yankee – “Limbo“ 4. Havana Brown ft. Pitbull – “ We Run The Night“ Cool Down Jams: 5. Ciara – ” Body Party“ 6. Justin Timberlake – “Strawberry Bubblegum“ I find myself more times than not listening to the Daddy Yankee track during my entire cardio session sometimes because it keeps me so pumped. The song maintains a fast pace the entire time, which is perfect for keeping my energy up while I sprint my life away. Plus, my bf and I met the guy who wrote the track while we were in Puerto Rico for my birthday last …

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Just DANCE!

So as  I was watching Grey’s Anatomy recently I fell in love with the idea of a ’30 second dance party’ to help you relax and de-stress.Music  can change your mood and I definitely use it as my own form of therapy. So all you need for this party is (1.) a song you can dance to, (2) a space big enough for you to move freely in and (3.) yourself, but feel free to invite coworkers, friends or family to join you who also need a few seconds to let loose. Put that song on (or you can just improvise) and start shaking what your momma gave ya for at least 30 seconds. Here are some of my favorite 30 Second Dance Party tracks! 1. “Drop it Like Its Hot” By Snoop Dog makes me want to shake it like I am in the Sun Drop commercial 2. “Rollin” by Limp Bizkit is a good head banger that brings me back to my youth 3.  “Scream“ by Michael and Janet Jackson is perfect for a stress relief dance off …

Love Jams Playlist: “Like a Star” by Corrine Bailey Rae

This is one of my favorite love songs that my bestie put me on to a few years ago. Its an oldie, but a goodie. I absolutely love Corrine’s voice and the words of this song really resonate with me. It’s so damn smooth.  Sit back, relax and enjoy.   “You’ve got this look I can’t describe, You make me feel like I’m alive, When everything else is a fade, Without a doubt you’re on my side, Heaven has been away too long, Can’t find the words to write this song, Oh… Your love “ What do you think? Have you heard this song before? Diggin’ it?

How to: Keep your thoughts positive, ask questions and make sure you sing at the top of your lungs!

Be (B)eautiful: I absolutely love blasting my favorite song of the moment, singing at the top of my lungs and not caring about what anyone thinks. Its my way of releasing any stress I may have bottled up inside. It also helps to  put me  in an automatic good mood. 🙂 Be (A)uthentic: “Our thoughts create our reality; where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go”  by Peter McWilliams. This quote is oh so true. Its important to keep positive thoughts in and kick negative ones to the gutter! Be (D)etermined: A good question to ask on an interview is “Why is the position currently available?” Your intentions in asking this question is to get insight as to whether this will be a good job for you. The interviewer might tell you that the previous person wasn’t comfortable cold calling and being rejected. If this is the case for you as well then it can help you decide whether or not to accept the position if/when it’s offered to you.  They …
