Birthday Celebrations in Coral.

This past weekend was my sister Nina’s birthday. We celebrated at Sofrito, one of our favorite restaurants in NYC. They specialize in Puerto Rican and Latin American cuisine. The food is A-MAZE-ING. I  Had a great time with my family. During the winter most people shy away from color, especially bright bold colors. Typical winter clothing is full of muted, neutral tones and I wanted to play it up, so the coral color of my knit sweater did the trick. Most of the guests at the restaurant and even my sister decided to play it safe with black. The coral helped this BAD girl stand out in the crowd. Happy Birthday Sis! Do you add in bright colors to your winter wardrobe?

Lately, I am obsessed with feeling tough, but still girlie. It may have something to do with the cold weather, perhaps?  I think it might be the boots! This was a casual Friday night outfit for hitting up a bar with friends. The charcoal skirt kind of looks like velvet when photographed, but its definitely not. I love embellished shoulder pads and my knit tights are so comfy! I also really like zippers on clothing where you least expect it, which is why I purchased the skirt in the first place.  I added the soft curls to my hair and the flower necklace for femininity. Be (B)eautiful: Party hard, but always keep it classy not trashy. Be (A)uthentic: If a guy calls you a bitch it’s because you struck a nerve. If they call you a heartless bitch it’s because you’ve got them running scared, but if they call you a cold, heartless bitch it’s even better because they know you are someone they will never be able to subjugate (control). p.s and those are the guys you kick to the curb!! Be (D)etermined: As a BAD Girl its known that you (and your girls) are the life of the party. So that means you are showing up late because you are  1) fashionably late or  2.) coming from a prior engagement, and 3.) you know its super lame to be there early before all the fun starts. Same goes for leaving a party, the only people hanging around are the ones with nothing better to do.  You always have something to do even if it’s just going home to snuggle with your guy. 😉

The see-through tummy and cut out open back  take this lil black dress up 10 notches.  Have the boys lined up to buy you a drank! Be (A)uthentic: A REAL bitch knows who she is and what she is capable of and even when she has an ounce of doubt she manages to surprise herself time and time again. Make a list of goals you wish to achieve-both short and long-term and stick to it! When thinking about your successes- your mentality should be: I got into law school- check, I launched a successful blog- check, I moved out into my own apartment- check. Be (B)eautiful: Dying your hair can be a total nightmare especially if your hair is dark. Going from dark to light is popular, but not everyone does it right. Dark roots and light hair, bad dye jobs, dark eyebrows-its all a mess. I highly recommend highlighting your hair over dying it if you want to go lighter. Here is why: 1. With highlights you don’t have to worry about your roots and touch ups as frequently. 2. You can get different color high lights at one time  (i.e light brown and blond) 3. You wont have to worry about dying your brows because your base color is still the same. 4. Dying your entire head one color can sometimes dry out your locks and even take away shine. 5. Highlights keep you looking natural. 6. Highlights are so sexy for the summer! Be (A)uthentic: Being a victim of Group think is a common problem in a work setting. Let it be (B)eautiful: Everyone loves gifts. If you’re out and see something that reminds you of your partner or that you think they would like/said they needed-get it for them! And It doesn’t have to  be expensive: a pack of gum, a new toothbrush, a nice cold one (i.e – beer. You know he/she had a long day), newest sports illustrated mag, etc. These small gestures allow your partner to know that you think of them even when they are not around. Let it be (A)uthentic: You should love everything about your partner. Like Gaga says: ” I want your ugly, I want your disease, I want your everything as long as its free..” Kiss your partner’s chipped tooth, hug his not so 6 pack abs, wear his college sweatshirt that he wont get rid of with the beer and pizza stains on it- love him for him. This outfit is beyond cute for a Fab brunch date with the girls or with your main squeeze. Be (A)uthentic: A BAD girl is always ahead of the rest and aware of whats new and  hot. Its great to introduce people to a new little gem like an amazing cafe that serves delicious cupcakes or a cool new bar with a great crowd and even better drinks.
