True Love Tuesday: Add Some Distance in Your Relationship

I have been in a somewhat long distance relationship for the past 6 years with my boyfriend living a little over an hour away. I know this is nothing compared to other long distance relationships, but it definitely still makes things a bit difficult. However, over time I have realized that the distance between us has helped to strengthen our relationship by improving our communication and trust with one another. This past weekend I went on a girls trip with my sorority sisters and put way more than an hour in between us. I can’t put it into exact words, but being so far away from your s/o that you see regularly definitely sparks feelings of appreciation for not only your relationship, but your partner as well. It can help to rejuvenate your relationship especially those of us in long term ones. I definitely recommend adding some miles in between you and your s/o to see how it makes you feel about one another. And if a trip isn’t something you can do right now then add some …

TLT: Be Interested but Not Fake!

One of the most important keys to a building a successful relationship is your ability to show a sincere interest in both the person and the things that are important to that person. When you express genuine interest in someone you give them a sense of importance, well being and value. However, it is equally as important that you are not fake with it. Don’t pretend to love politics when the only “politics” you care about involve Olivia Pope! Don’t pretend to be okay with the fact that he spends all his free time playing video games when you secretly want to throw his controller out with the recyclable! When we pretend it’s only for so long until the truth catches up to us. And it will, which will then cause feelings to be hurt and an argument to erupt. Be open minded and willing to learn or try new things, but don’t fake an interest just to get on his good side. You can still respect their interests even if they aren’t of interest to …

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Know How to Communicate with Your Kiss

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I figured we could talk about good ol’ kissing and how it can be used to get us what we want and avoid what we dont! Kissing is a form of non-verbal communication so it’s important to be mindful of the message you are sending when you plant one on somebody. Every B.A.D. Girl should know how to kiss in a way that communicates clearly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next otherwise you might find yourself in an uncomfortable situation. Each “type” of kiss sends its own distinct message to the receiver, which is super important when you begin dating someone new and are still trying to figure out your feelings. You don’t want to have the guy think you are ready to take things up a notch when in reality you’re just not that interested. Be in control of the kissing so you can set the tone. It is also important to keep in mind the message you are sending when in a long term relationship …

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Disconnect and Connect

B.A.D. Girl Lifestyle Tip: Make the effort to put your phone away when you are out to dinner or spending quality time with friends and loved ones.  It’s a rude habit to always be on your cell phone and it’s actually nice to tuck it away and spend time connecting face to face.  If you have to take a phone call or respond to a text always excuse yourself and keep it brief. Do you disconnect from your phone? xo  Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin’  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  Youtube  Shop

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Be a Treat not a Trick

Be a woman that a man looks forward to being with not someone he can have whenever he wants. You should be aware of your worth and the power you possess as a woman. Don’t give away your treats for free or to anyone who doesn’t deserve a taste. Just sayin’. And on that note are you ready for Halloween? 😉 xo Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin‘  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  SHOP

B.A.D. Girl Style: 5 Things You Should Not Wear On A First Date

OK! So as a B.A.D. Girl the last thing I want is for anyone to tell me what to do or what I should and shouldn’t wear. However, when it comes to the opposite sex there are some things they just don’t get or appreciate and one of those things is FASHION! Here are my top picks for items to avoid on a first date. 1. Hats. For whatever reason most guys have a (negative) thing with girls and hats, so unless you really need one for your date try to stay away. Plus, it will hide your pretty face and just be a distraction. 2. Trends. I love experimenting with fashion and have been with my boyfriend for 5 years and he still doesn’t get it no matter how many times I explain myself. This is why I think its important to skip wearing really trendy items on a first, second and probably 3rd date.  Trendy items are distracting and he.  just. wont. get. it. 3. Stripes. More specifically, black and white stripes that …

TLT: Be Okay With Letting Go

There are certain things that as a 20-something year old we should master and one of those things is being able to let go of thoughts, memories, feelings and people that no longer deserve our attention. It is such a powerful feeling knowing that you can move on and find acceptance. You can and will be able to look back and feel complete peace with having let go. Remember that sometimes letting go is not giving up; its going up. This post from Tiny Buddha has 10 awesome tips for letting go. Check it out here! TLT: Create a Gratitude List

image via It’s said that ” Energy flows, where attention goes” and that you get what you focus on so stop dwelling on all of the annoying things that may be going on with your relationship and/or your significant other and start paying attention to the good things. Creating a “gratitude list” will allow you to put your energy into the positive aspects of your relationship and remember all of the wonderful qualities that you love about your partner. Everyday for the next 30 days write down one new thing on your list. The KEY here is to focus your thoughts and energy on the items you add to your list only. You will start to receive more of the good while the not so good start to disappear. ANDDDD if for some reason your list is coming up short it may be time for you to reevaluate your current relationship. Just saying. P.s. You can also create a “gratitude list” for your personal life too! What is something you are grateful for?

Why It’s OK To Celebrate Valentine’s Day

I get that people feel like we shouldn’t have ONE day out of the year to to celebrate love in our life, but honestly its no different than celebrating a holiday like Thanksgiving where we take the time out to give thanks for what we have right, right? 5 Reasons it’s OK to Celebrate: 1.  It’s a holiday, which means we have a legit excuse to get out, have fun amd meet people! 2. Gift Giving helps spread cheer and positive energy. 3. You can use it as an excuse to treat YOURSELF. 4. Valentine’s Day isn’t just for lovers; its also for family and friends. 5. B.A.D. Girls spread Love everyday and Feb 14th is no different, right? In a fast paced crazy world I feel like Holidays gives us the opportunity to take time out and make an extra effort to show our appreciation for our vast blessings and good fortune EVEN IF we make an effort to do it on the daily. Do you celebrate V-DAY? xx Nicole *image is not my own.
