November was all about skincare with lots of moisturizing products!
I was really excited to try the NEW starter kit from Jane Iredale because her line focuses on creating makeup with actual skincare benefits. Products are made using high quality ingredients with no parabens, high testing standards and are always cruelty free. Here are my thoughts on the kit! Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener This primer helped even my skin tone to eliminate redness and the appearance of pores while also giving my skin a subtle glow, which I love! Pure Pressed Base & Amazing Base SPF 20 Broad Spectrum -Medium These multi-tasking foundations provide 4 functions in one: foundation, concealer, sunscreen and active skincare benefits. The Pure Pressed Base (my personal fave!) gave me amazing coverage with just one quick application. I also liked that it was very buildable so you can achieve the look you want and the product doesn’t look caked on. The amazing base is a loose mineral powder, which works great but I am just personally not a fan of when it comes to foundations because it gets messy (no matter …

I mentioned in a previous post how I was switching up my skin care routine so I can face the winter (literally) here in New York. I am happy I did because it has been super cold out and going from single digit temperatures outdoors to a room/car with blasting heat is no bueno for my already problem skin. So here is what I have been doing to keep my skin moisturized and flake free. 1. Dior Cleansing Milk: This is my daily face cleanser that I use twice a day. 2. Origins Modern Friction: I use this 1-2 per week to help exfoliate and refresh my skin. 3. F.A.B. Instant Oatmeal Mask: I use this 2-3 per week to help combat dryness. 4. Ultra Repair Cream: This cream is awesome and is my daily day/night moisturizer. 5. Urban Decay De-Slick Spray: I put this on before my moisturizer to help combat shine. 6. F.A.B. Lip Therapy: This is a kick ass lip balm that kind of tastes like chamomile tea. All of the products …
Your wardrobe changes from season to season and so should your skin care routine. As soon as we turn on the heat indoors our skin starts to dry out so its important that we take the necessary steps to keep our skin soft and flake free. Here are my top tips for battling itchy dry skin this season: Avoid hot showers and limit your time spent in them. Hot water strips your skin of its natural oils. Use warm water instead. Look for lotions containing “humectants,” a class of substances (including glycerine, sorbitol, and alpha-hydroxy acids) that attract moisture to your skin. Avoid using harsh peels, masks, and alcohol-based toners or astringents. Use face masks that are “deeply hydrating,” rather than clay-based, which tends to draw moisture out of the face. Use a face serum in addition to your daily moisturizer Switch up your face wash for a cleansing milk or mild foaming cleanser. Invest in a humidifier to increase moisture in the air. Another solution is to place bowls of water in the room …
