B.A.D. Girl Tip: How to Be Authentically YOU

So, who are you, really? I’m not talking about the persona who has been created via social media. I want to know who you are when the world isn’t watching. I am talking about the authentic you who was there before the experiences of life (and Instagram) started shifting things for you. It is our personal responsibility to find that person and open her up to the world so that she can be reconnected with who you present to the world everyday. That is when the magic happens and lasting success starts making its way into your life. Here are my tips for living authentically: 1. Disconnect. Skip the social media feeds every once in a while. It will allow you to focus on yourself and not what everybody else is doing. 2. Alone Time. Spend some quality time getting to know who you are at this time of your life. Are you happy? 3. Do More Happy.  Make an effort to do more things that genuinely make you feel good. Who cares if its …

HUSTLE.

Please excuse my absence while I have been on my hustle trying to get my mind right. I’ve been in a weird space the past few weeks and I am happy to be making some changes to help facilitate inspiration and positivity. Things have not been easy since I ventured out on my own, but I am determined to make it work. I am currently in the process of giving my office space a makeover and I FINALLY got a functioning laptop (thanks babe!). So I will have some new posts for you starting this week! Hope you have all been doing amaze! XOXO Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin’  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram   Youtube   Shop

B.A.D. Girl Beauty Review: The NEW Starter Kit by Jane Iredale

I was really excited to try the NEW starter kit from Jane Iredale because her line focuses on creating makeup with actual skincare benefits.  Products are made using high quality ingredients with no parabens, high testing standards and are always cruelty free. Here are my thoughts on the kit! Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener This primer helped even my skin tone to eliminate redness and the appearance of pores while also giving my skin a subtle glow, which I love! Pure Pressed Base & Amazing Base SPF 20 Broad Spectrum -Medium These multi-tasking foundations provide 4 functions in one: foundation, concealer, sunscreen and active skincare benefits. The Pure Pressed Base (my personal fave!)  gave me amazing coverage with just one quick application. I also liked that it was very buildable so you can achieve the look you want and the product doesn’t look caked on. The amazing base is a loose mineral powder, which works great but I am just personally not a fan of when it comes to foundations because it gets messy (no matter …

The REAL Reason Why You Aren’t Happy

It’s virtually impossible to be happy when all you do is focus on the negative aspects of your life. Every time you speak, tweet, THINK negative things and more importantly allow these thoughts to effect how you feel you are attracting more of the same.  So keep talking about your stressful job, lazy s/o, and lack of funds if that’s the life you want to continue experiencing. Do you really want to be happy? Start focusing on feeling good and putting your mind to focus on the things that you do want. Stop complaining to everyone about your problems and instead make a conscious effort to really focus on your blessings and all of the amazing things you desire that will essentially make you feel happy. Make a Pinterest board if you have to, but do something that will allow you to put your energy towards positive thoughts. Like the quote above says, happiness is a habit which means we need to develop it over time.  How your life turns out is on you so make …

B.A.D. Girl Photo Diary: The Color Run #Happiest5k

Last weekend I participated in my first ever 5k called The Color Run, which is equal to about 3.1 miles! The run took place at Citified in Queens, NY.  Now I must make it clear that I am no runner so I agreed to participate because this run is all about having fun, feeling happy and being active. Plus, you get splashed with color throughout which makes it impossible not to have a blast! So here are a few photos from our day. I can check  off participating in a 5k run from my bucket list now! This was such a fun feel good event that was so much fun we didn’t want the race to end. It didn’t even feel like 3 miles! I definitely recommend everyone participate at least once because you will have a blast! BTW in case you are curious the color used is dyed corn starch powder and yes, it comes off easily. 🙂 Have you ever participated in a 5K run? XOXO Nicole For more info about The Color Run visit here. B.A.D. Girl Style: All Neutral Everything

This past weekend I had the honor of attending a graduation party for one of my sorority sisters who achieved her goal of obtaining her Doctorate by the age of 30! This is such a killer accomplishment and to reach it at such a young age is even more amazing! I am so proud of my beautiful friend Dr. Marquez and all that she will do to help change and shape the world! I apologize for the lack in photo quality as these were taken in dim lighting with my phone but I just had to share this amazing accomplishment and my outfit of course! You can get the look for under $100! Get the Look: Skirt in Black Here, Crop Top Here, Shoes Here, Cuff Bracelet Here I pretty much stuck with neutral shades for this outfit where I normally may have thrown in a pop of color. My lipstick was even in a nude shade! My outfit was super affordable since I got my top and skirt from Tobi which offer 50% of your first order with them! …

B.A.D. Girl Style: Weekend Casual

I would be lying if I didn’t say that this is probably my everyday uniform. My personal style revolves around being comfortable. I live in a tee, jeans and comfy shoes.  I love to add unique elements and touches to make my outfits my own because being comfortable doesn’t mean you can’t be stylish, right? I took these photos while exploring Brooklyn, NY after visiting with my screen printer. My boyfriend and I were really digging the vibe and are definitely going to look into BK when we begin our apartment hunt later this year! That same day we also made a quick trip up to the Riverdale section of the Bronx to visit his grandmother and fell in love with the scenery. It was a gorgeous day out and we were literally staring at the Hudson River. I just love New York! P.S. Thanks to all who entered my giveaway! Winner will be announced on Friday!! What is your weekend style? B.A.D. Girl Style: The All Seeing Eye

If I were a celebrity people would probably think I am promoting “evil” by wearing this top, but I would like to go on the record and just say I am wearing it simply because I think it’s dope! I love the gold detail and the shirt is really comfortable too. Civil Clothing Cap, Garage Sweatshirt,  Zara Vest, Urban Outfitters Jeans, Pink & Pepper Boots We had “nice” weather last weekend which for us was about 50-something degrees so I ventured out and left my winter coat behind hoping to summon a quicker return of Spring. However, it was still too cold for me so I threw on my Civil Clothing cap and this was the outcome. It’s probably one of the most “street” looks I’ve worn since I don’t even know when, but hopefully you guys dig it! What are you wearing today? xo Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  Youtube  SHOP
