B.A.D. Girl Link Love: Rare photos of Aaliyah, a Fun Quiz & the Truth About Success

Happy Friday loves! I hope you all had a kick ass week! I’ve been in a bit of funk this week, but I finally  got my hands on an actual planner! You know, one that you actually write in? Yeah, I’m old school like that! I am hoping to get organized, focused and motivated now that I can compile my thoughts and write them down. This is the planner I bought on clearance from Vera Bradley. Score! Here are this weeks links I am loving! Beautiful: Aaliyah is still one of my favorite singers and I can’t help but miss her presence in the music industry every time I listen to her songs. In honor of Aaliyah’s 35th birthday on January 16th photographer Eric Johnson shared never before seen photos of her that were taken just one month before she died that you can see HERE. (via Love B. Scott) Authentic: This was a fun quiz to take and I interestingly enough got the city of Portland for being a free spirit who is smart, but …

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Set Your Standards for the New Year

I’ve mentioned in previous posts how I no longer set resolutions or goals because they are future focused and don’t allow for you to feel accomplished NOW. This leads to feeling discouraged and straying off from what you set out to accomplish. I set standards that I vow to stick to on a daily basis that will ultimately allow me to be happy, positive and successful everyday not 1, 3 or 6 months from now. My New Standards for 2014: Eat Cleaner. I am eliminating  McDonald’s and Burger King from my diet. Blog Consistently. Publish at least 3 blog posts a week. Save Money. I am going to put away a minimum amount each month. Grow My Business. Do at least one thing aimed at growth everyday. Get Organized. I am buying a planner and creating the day that I want in advance. What standards will you be implementing for the New Year? P.S. Check out the post I wrote on the Goodwill Blog with tips for sticking to your resolutions HERE. xo Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  Youtube  SHOP

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Facing Your Fears Unleashes Your Potential

Wasted potential sucks so don’t pour yours down the drain just because we live in a fear-based society that keeps most of us worrying rather than dreaming.  The easiest way to face your fears is to act.  If you have a goal or a dream you want to achieve take time out  every day to make your dream happen. Do something! Start small if you have to, but just START! Actually, I am going to give you your first step… buy a dream book aka a notebook that you can write down your thoughts, ideas and to-do lists in. Yeah, you can use your fancy phone, but there is something about the act of hand writing your ideas down that makes it seem more real. Don’t you want to know what can happen if you unleash your potential? The biggest risk you can take is to take none. What is your dream?  xo Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin’  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  SHOP

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Stop and Smell The Roses

It is so easy to get caught up in the bull shit that life throws at us, but as B.A.D. girls we know better.  We know that in order for us to continue kicking ass we have to express gratitude and move forward with a positive mindset. Take the time out every day to give thanks and enjoy the life you have. It will lead to more opportunities and reasons for your to be happy. Have a kick-ass week! xo Nicole Let’s Connect:  Bloglovin  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram  SHOP

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Set Daily Standards

I recently started reading this book and its completely changed my way of thinking, living and how I plan to set out and accomplish my goals. So basically I am no longer setting goals, but rather setting daily standards that will allow me to start achieving success TODAY. Here are some of the standards I am now implementing into my daily routine: 1. I will not put garbage food & drink into my body. 2. I will not entertain negativity in any shape or form. 3. I will dictate how my time is spent and with whom. 4. I will not spend money frivolously. 5. I will not over work myself. Now the key is to stick to my standards and my life will slowly begin to change for the better! What are some standards YOU can start to implement today?  xx Nicole

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Giving Up vs Trying Harder

This is something we  probably have learned the hard way at some point in our life and being the  DETERMINED women that we are it can be difficult for us to just  throw in the towel. We aren’t quitters, because quitters never win right? Well, I strongly believe in NEVER saying never! It is majorly important for us to grow, understand and realize when we need to work harder for something or someone and when it is best for us to gracefully bow out. When To Try Harder: You haven’t actually “failed” yet You haven’t given 120% of your efforts Your heart tells you that you CAN You believe in your idea When To Move On: Your efforts are not being appreciated You are causing more harm than good YOU are not happy When do you think someone should move on or try harder at something? xx Nicole

B.A.D. Girl Tip: Keep Your Energy UP

Thoughts are waves of energy that when consistently repeated will create a physical form. So remember if you want to achieve success,  wealth, prosperity or love; keep your thoughts, words, and energy on those things. And keep them POSITIVE even if reality may be telling you otherwise. Wishing you all a KICK ASS Week! xx Nicole

Be a Mover & Shaker, Not a Loser & Faker.

Noun 1. mover and shaker – a person who wields power and influence: i.e a B.A.D Girl. Noun 1. Loser and Faker – a person who is all talk and no action: i.e a Lame. Be (B)eautiful: Truly successful people will not hesitate to help others also achieve. Haters like to see other people down and want to keep them there, while they keep climbing. Be (A)uthentic: If you have ever used the word “real” to describe yourself, guess what? You are probably just about as fake as they come. If you are a person who “keeps it real” then there is no need to ever have to say it, people already know. Be (D)etermined: In order to make shit happen you have to actually put in work.  Everything worth having in life is worth working hard for. So stop talking about it and be about it.  Enough said. “It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” ~ Edmund Hillary

Be (B)eautiful: I really look forward to my weekly manicure’s. Changing my nail polish color really helps brighten my mood. It’s amazing how looking down at my nails in a cute fun color can really make me feel better.  The new Fall 2010 OPI Swiss collection is my current obsession. The colors are fab. I’m currently typing with Glitzerland on my nails. ❤ it! Be (A)uthentic: When I feel like giving up on something, I talk myself out of it. I am my own motivation and you should be yours. I keep it real with myself because not everyone else will. Only I know how I really feel and what I am capable of. How can I base my decisions on what someone else thinks about me? People think they know you, but they have no idea. 😉 Be (D)etermined: The quote above is so true. When faced with a challenge, it is so easy for us to doubt our ability to succeed. We without even thinking start to question our skills and strengths. It …
